Peter Collins, a driver with major moral talent, just as he proved during the 1956 Italian GP. Collins voluntarily stopped to give his Ferrari to Fangio, who stopped at the pits due to problems with his steering wheel and who won his fourth world championship. A gesture which will always remain imprinted in the history of the ruthless F1 world.<\/div>\n

He debuted in F1 in 1952, with an HWM. In 1955, he won the Targa Florio with Moss. He participated in the 24 Hour of Le Mans with Paul Fr\u00e8re. In 1956, he moved on to Ferrari, winning two races, in France and in Belgium, In 1956, in Monza, he stated: \u201cI have a lot of time ahead of me, Fangio needs to remain a world champion for another year yet\u201d\u2026 but his fate went against him and, on 3rd August 1958, on the N\u00fcrburgring circuit, the tragedy took place. Collins was fighting fiercely against Tony Brooks, when, at the Pflanzgarten bend, he lost control of his car and the Ferrari number 2 exited the track. The accident was fatal.
